Located in Portland, OR (97206)

Time to part with it, just too many projects and not enough time to work on it anymore:

http://s148.photobucket.com/albums/s10/fiat22turbo/Shelby/

150K

Body is rough with only a couple of small rust spots and a bumper crease down the passenger side, urethane bumper overlays are separating in a couple of spots and the paint is faded on top.

Cracked windshield.

Interior is complete just needs the driver's seat recovered and some panels replaced/repainted.

I have a new heater core and an A/C compressor that needs to be rebuilt along with some new A/C components that will go with the car.

I added a full center console, but it hasn't been bolted down, so it can be put back to stock without hassle.

Engine needs bearings (which is why I've not driven it lately) but it starts and drives fine (could be piston slap, but I know I put aluminum bearings in it back in 95 so it is due and I didn't want to lunch the numbers matching block).

MP Computer, intake, exhaust, head port matched. MP headgasket, MP head bolts, 2.5" exhaust.

Radiator recored a few years ago, always used distilled water and coolant since then.

Clutch, (A520) transaxle, drivelines, shifter/cables in good shape.

Koni struts/shocks, strut tower brace, stock Shelby springs, 11" R/T disc brakes, homemade rear sway bar.

Stock wheels come with it, but they don't have tires on them currently.

15x7" 5-spoke wheels with 205/50 shaved Kumho's on it currently.

Buy just the car as it sits for $1000

17" dual pattern wheels (5x114 and 5x100) $200 obo.

Ol' Shel needs to go to a good home, just don't have the time or interest to do it myself anymore and I hate watching it sit.

Let me know if you have any questions.

How bad is the bottom end noise? How long has it been doing it, and has it been getting worse?

Could we get some pics of the interior?

Ill take some pics tonight and post them up.

The noise isn't bad and once it started, I stopped driving the car and it has mostly sat for a few years (other than moving it around the driveway). I know all too well how these bottom ends will go away quickly if that noise is ignored.

This past weekend I managed to see 3 or 4 different Plymouth Sundances...in Pennsylvania, no less, and yes they were on the road being driven.

This (a CSX) is probably one of the few performance, late model Mopars I've only ever seen in photos, not in the metal.

Yeah, it was my first car and part of me doesn't want to sell it, but I'm not going to enjoy it like it should be enjoyed.

Not trying to thread jack, but... I've got a sundance parts car I pulled out of someone's yard. Was told it had a ventilated block, but it turned out to be a headgasket. Lost the title, but I'll take scrap value for it. Complete 4 door auto car if it will help.( I'm not familiar the csx)

I've uploaded some pictures of the interior and shot some video with my phone.

I used a stethoscope with the phone, to try and get some directional noise references. It sounds like a top end noise so it could be lifter collapse or piston slap.

Hmm. Assuming it's top-end and not bottom-end, any reason that you know of it couldn't be driven to, say, Missouri?

This is the second time a one-of-750-built 1987 CSX has been posted in the $20xx Classifieds. I own the other one now.

Good luck!

Have you posted this on Turbo-Mopar yet? You'll be sure to find a buyer on there.

Oh and yours is car #106? Mine's car #115. 9 cars apart, and both on GRM. That's kinda cool.

Nope. A trip permit and a AAA card just to be safe :)

Wish I had an oil pressure gauge to check the oil pressure (why they didn't have one like the Daytona's did I'll never know)

Other than the shaved Kumho's not being a good idea for a long drive and the cracked windshield is annoying as heck, it should be good to go for a drive, once the rust is rubbed off the rotors.

Personally, I would buy a set of tires for the stock wheels or buy the 17's. Unless you're bringing your own in a chase rig of some sort.

BTW, I have a friend in the glass business that could do the windshield for a few hundred, if you're serious I can set it up for them to come out and do the Windshield before you take off, just add it on to the final cost of the car.

I'm going to pass as well. Right car, right price, just no way to get it here by myself, and I don't think I could swing the money for shipping it right now.

You'll need to log in to post.
