Oh my.... 20v FX16? DO WANT.
Individual Throttle Bodies...
Two large, gutted interior and it needs a clutch? I dunno.

With you, kinda...
Would be hard to duplicate this effort for the same price, though, assuming the car itself is in decent condition, and it does look ok. Besides, aren't 4age clutches like $39 or something? Rip out the 5 speed while you're in there and dump in the 6speed. Convert to blacktop electronics, and you've got a real monster.

There's nothing wrong with a 20v that faces that way as long as you piitb

"piitb"? Put it in the back? Like in an AW11? Did I miss something? I probably did.
if thats the original steering wheel, then thats a FX, not a FX16, which means it was originally a 4AC car. It will have rear drum brakes. as far as the clutch goes. the 5 speed clutch is an over the counter item, while the 6 speed is a special order from japan. not exactly a $40 item

A 16v clutch will bolt up to that flywheel with no problems. The flywheel in there (assuming it's the original) is the same as a 16v flywheel. The 20v clutch set is different than a 16v clutch set, but it is the same as found on the US market 7A motors such as the 9503-9712 AT200 Celica and the ZZ block Rollas like the 9708-up ZZE110.
Oh, and a 6 speed clutch disk and pressure plate as found in the 9704-up AE111 blacktop is exactly the same as that Celi disk. So anyone saying it's JDM only is trying to rip you off or clueless.
From personal experience, you DO NOT want to put a cheap 16v clutch behind a 20v motor. I burned up about 75% of one in about 3K miles.
the parts guy probably just didn't wanna help me then.

ROFL.
I would also have accepted "Put in individual throttle bodies".

But it's already got those. That motor has them stock.
I believe he was saying "Put it in the Back."
Ok, so my dad stopped by the house and told me this car is at his shop. He says the kid put a Limited Slip in it and could probably get away with just doing a clutch on it. He said the kid would take $1500 for it....
I guess it would be a safe bet that it doesn't have working heat....
Yeah, I'd go for that at $1500. Fortunately, Atlanta is far away from here.
I have the money for this, and i want it... but i would want to put at least the upper dash and heat back in it, as a bare minimum. I think that would be more of a PITA than it's worth.
Meanwhile, in the classifieds...

I guess the car in the OP is priced about right as this guy's asking 1800 for a runner.

Doesn't have the delicious 20v, though. But, it does have some other goodies that may make up for it. Tough call.

For used: Corolla sites -body and general parts, for engine stuff - mr2.com is a good place.
New: Rockauto , etc will take care of you.
(sorry I didn't put in the URLs. It's early...)
