Not mine, not affiliated, etc. but you're going to doubt me after I run down this car. This is because I want somebody else to buy it before I do and get involved in another project I don't have time for.
I went to look at this car, and the body it SOLID. No rust in the trunk near the license plate lights or near the drain holes under the jack/battery.
The odometer is broken, of course. It will need tires soon. There is ONE crack in the dashboard which runs about 3/4 of the way from the glass to the inner edge. The intake boot was not cracked and was still flexible (I was surprised, too!). The leather on the seats is cracking, but it isn't so dry it is crumbling, and I didn't see any through and through tears, but I stopped looking pretty quickly because...
The engine is burning oil and the automatic transmission is slipping. The power steering is leaking and kaput (most likely the rack). There is also an exhaust leak just downstream from the manifold. There was a bit of valve ticking happening, but there was no knocking or anything serious. It might be that a fluid change on the transmission would get that fixed and then you could do an Italian tune up and get it running well. Anyhow, those engines are tough, and it could probably run for a long while yet, but the auto transmission seemed just about terminal.
It was too much of a project for me, but I still want to buy it. Why? As stated above, outside of a car show, I have only seen one E30 this rust free before, and I bought it.
In person he dropped the price enough to get it in this section, but just barely. A person more willing to haggle or with cash in hand might even get a better deal.
