Something seems fishy with this one, that's an awful lot of engine work to walk away from it for under $2k. OTOH, if it were near me I would be tempted to atleast check it out.

I agree. Maybe it has some body damage not pictured or maybe it runs terrible. Or maybe not? It would definitely need to be investigated further.
It's probably rusty.
