1990 Feroza? Aka Diahatsu Rocky

I AM SELLING MY very RARE 1990 FEROZA (aka Diahatsu Rocky) 5 SPEED 4 WHEEL DRIVE. MINI TANK. only needs engine!!! THE ENGINE IS A TOYOTA 1.6L, new battery, new radiator, new alternator, new starter. It has very recent tires, recent clutch,. steel push bar, side markers, fog lamps, air horns, air intake, recent exhaust, euro plates, and box tow hitch, THIS JEEP IS A SERIOUS ATTENTION GETTER!!! SADLY THE ENGINE RAN WITHOUT OIL AND NEEDS REBUILDING OR A SWAP. THE ROOF COMES OFF, AND THE BACK COMES OFF!! PERFECT SUMMER TRUCK. the first $1800 takes it :(

Seems like a lot of hype, attention and price for a vehicle that no one really liked when it was sold here new.

I didn't know they were ever sold here new, I guess it would have a valid title then.

I would rather have a Lada Niva but this looks cool as well.

Daihatsu is a Toyota-owned company, so logic would follow that it robs the Toyota parts bin. I have no direct verification, though.

Wonder if a 22r or one of the 3s motors would fit. I don't recall ever seeing them with flares I'm digging it.

If it's a 1.6, I'd wager it might be a 4A-FE. Would open up some interesting swap possibilities...but why? I've only ever seen one, and they say build quality made the Suzuki Samurai look stellar by contrast.

I've never heard that the Rocky used a Toyota engine. If they did, it's not a 4A-FE. The Rocky engine have the spark plugs go through the head from the side of the valve cover, and the 4A-FE's plugs go straight down the middle.

Diahatsu in Japanese means "happy rust lump". I think.
