not mine
1990 Volvo 240 DL Wagon Have had for about 3 years and this has been a reliable car. We even drove it up to Wisconsin 2 summers ago. But in Atlanta, it has been primarily to make grocery store trips, go to school sometimes, etc. Not much OTP or commuter driving at all. There have been several repairs as old cars typically need, which have been minor. Right now it needs new struts, a water pump and it burns a little oil. Radio doesn't work, Heat does work, have not explored AC if it just needs freon or what. Windows are powered and work. Includes fullsize spare tire. But for the past 6 months or so, it has been doing this thing where it will run fine, then one day it won't start, and we cannot figure out the issue. When it does this we take it to the mechanic, and it starts for him of course, so he can never really diagnose the problem. He keeps it for a week or so and cannot get it to stop. Then we get it back, it runs fine for a few weeks or a month ... and then it happens all over again! We have been working with a GREAT mechanic who works on (and drives) old volvos almost exclusively to get to the bottom of it, but just getting tired of trying to explore the issue any longer, so if you are interested we can recommend him and maybe he can figure it out for you. We have purchased a scooter and are moving on. This would be a great cheap car for someone who wants to put a little time and work into doing the two repairs and getting to the mystery issue. It looks just like the photo attached except the paint is fading, there is dent in the driver-side door, and some of the chrome trim has come off.
