Update: Keeping it! For now...

I've come to a crossroads with my beloved 240 wagon. I've owned this thing for 5 years and it has never once let me down. Unfortunately I have also neglected it quite a bit over the past couple years(other than oil changes) there is a good amount of maintenance that needs to be caught up on. I've been planning on parking it in a garage for eventual restoration but I don't know when I will have the time/resources.

This is the only picture I have at the moment and I'm aware it shows very little detail. The car has been seeing heavy use and needs quite a bit of cleaning up before I can feel right about posting more pictures. This is more of a feeler post than anything, I will gladly clean it up and take good pics if someone is serious.

Exterior is in good shape, few dings and very little rust, mostly just a bit on the passenger rear fender well. The car has been in the south for the past 3 years and has unfortunately experienced some clear coat fade, it can be shined up but is peeling in some areas.

The tan interior is very nice, probably a 9/10 with working seat heaters. Seats are in incredible shape for their age.

Odometer stopped at 267k about a year ago. Probably just hitting 300k

Now for the differed maintenance: T-belt/WP is due (non interference and very easy) tires are worthless, suspension has begun to clunk/steering wheel shake, exhaust is on its way out, its developed a vacuum leak at the PCV breather box leading to a high idle and some slow oil leakage, motor mount(s)could use changing, blower motor has begun to squeak a bit, and finally the A/C has been inop for at least a year, haven't tried to charge it. This list is why the car is getting parked/sold. None of these issues are huge, but tackling them all in a reasonable amount of time is just not feasible for me right now.

That said, the clutch is stout it shifts great, brakes are newish, radiator/hoses are new,(replaced due to very slow leak up top) I recently replaced ignition stuff and it is still being used daily. It now has a tow hitch, and comes with a trunk full of parts/manuals/tools/etc.

I'm only posting it here and am avoiding CL as I know one of you guys will take good care of it, or at least race it. If there is no interest it will be making the 800 mile trek up to NY, to sit in a garage, likely for eternity. Send me a text/call me @ 845-224-6953

wow this is almost exactly what I'm searching for, if only it was a turbo model it'd be perfect. I need to buy a car in the next month so I will be contacting you if it's not gone by the time I have money, which is hopefully a couple weeks.

Back to the front page.... Also, I am quite negotiable and can drop the car off virtually anywhere on I95 north of South Carolina....

Any recent pics? That would help things out a lot, even if it is dirty or something.

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking it

Moved my cars/motorcycle to high ground before the water started rising out here. Wasn't as lucky with my lawnmower/some of my tools but I really can't complain as some people lost a lot more...

Still driving the Volvo 30+ miles a day, going to miss it when its gone. Gave it a bath yesterday and took some quick pictures:

Interested in dropping it off in Baltimore? This could scratch my itch for a slightly boxier Swedish wagon...

Looking for something exactly like this right now. You're at the very top end of what I was hoping to spend though. Is the price flexible at all? Any way you could deliver to Knoxville, TN? Or we could meet somewhere between us. I have family in Charlotte, NC if that would work.

It will probably be a good 2-3 months before I head back up I-95. If this thing is still around at that point I will be sure to contact you. British, you have a pm.

You'll need to log in to post.
