I drove one of these a while ago. It was a blast and had plenty of torx!

No affiliation. Seems like a hell of a deal.

That seems like a pretty good deal.

One came around to the local Auto-X all tarted up like a NASCAR.

Why not?

From Wiki, the 3.8 has the same bolt pattern as the 5.0 SBF. I'd say take out the 3.8 and put in a 5.0. Have a good Grand Touring car with a manual transmission.

Why would you do that? That's ignoring what made the car special in the first place.

Just start with a V8 car and do the manual conversion. I fantasized about doing this with my dad's MN12 Cougar XR7.

In reply to Powar:

Because you need all the parts from this car to make one manual anyways. Plus, didn't the 3.8 like to pop head gaskets?

A coworker called on the car. Turns out it developed a blowby problem... I'll know more after he looks at it.

And, yea, these engines munch headgaskets.

Would make a really good ChumpCar I think. Big fuel tank, independent suspension all 'round, very good power/torque, manual trans, lots of final drive ratios available...

It was on my short list of candidates but couldn't find a decent price on one.
