Forgive my lazy, just cutting and pasting from the CL ad

Arriving in New Orleans friday evening as part of the Big Apple to Big Easy (New York to New Orleans) road rally (www.baberally.com). Car will have just completed over 1500 miles of driving to arrive in New Orleans. It has been running great and averaging 28 mpg.

The car itself is a 1993 Capri XR2. 1.6 liter turbo motor and 5 speed. 178,000 miles but running strong. New tires all around, new starter, replaced distributor and all tune up parts. Newer radiator. Will include new brake pads, not installed, didn't need them yet. With its jet fighter themed paint it definitely turns heads. The "weapons" are plastic and easily removed and the lettering is all in vinyl so it can be removed as well. Passed NJ inspection including emissions just prior to leaving on the trip.

The convertible top will keep you dry but it is not in the best overall shape.

Currently has a Kenwood AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with decent speakers all around. I will leave this in for the asking price of $950 but any lower and I'm going to keep the head unit, you can keep the speakers.

Here's the deal. I arrive in New Orleans tomorrow night and depart north again on Saturday afternoon. I have too many cars and not enough drivers to get them home so I would like to sell this before I leave. You must be ready to buy on the spot because I have to get on the road saturday, no exceptions. If it doesn't sell I'll have to drive it back to NJ.

I do not unfortunately have the title on hand with me. I do have clear title to the car and will fed ex it to the buyer as soon as I arrive back in NJ on monday. I do have a faxed copy to prove ownership and the current registration documents in my name.

Please email as I will be on the road all day and cant really be on the phone.

Really great fast fun little car that just needs a good home.

Sorry for the delayed reply, hard to get reliable internet time while driving.

The car went to another BABE team ("Mental" Ward and his wife) when their van suffered catastrophic failure.

Sadly I hear they are about 250 miles from home and its having cooling problems, ran all week at 80mph in the southern heat without an issue too. Not happy.

Its replacement got me home easily but the joy of the new ride is greatly diminished by the Capri fighting a friend.

No worries friends. The Capri got a new themostat, new McGuyvered coolant line, the fan re-attached and has been doing fine.

Look for it at a Challenge near you or the missus has directed me to trade for a BABE-worthy, big American station wagon with working AC.

I believe Ward has a bit of a history with E36 M3 blowing up when heading west. He always pulls through, although the person supplying the piece of crap car ALWAYS feels like this...

It's why I ususally have a strict "no friends or family" rule but considering it was that or he does a one way rental from New Orleans to OK I was hoping I was doing him a favor.

Mr. Mental however is used to me subjecting him to a bit of suffering though, he did drive the Wartburg at Summit after all.
