1993 Mazda Miata.
$2015 or trade.
Starkville/Jackson MS
140k miles
runs and drives fine, has been my daily since i got it 3 or 4 years ago. ive added, removed, and changed a couple things over the years but for the most part its a stock reliable miata. ive got some photos uploading to photobucket (unless someone tells me a better way) ill post as soon as it goes through.
bad: poor 1.6 diff has been making noise since i got it, poly bushings didnt help but i planned on throwing a 1.8 torsen in there when it blew, it hasnt and it isnt "bad" just has slight noise. the body isnt great, typical wavy cracked front bumper indicitive of a real slow love tap before i had it, in my possession it was hit on both sides in a week first a woman in an suv who didnt know how to drive (my mother) parked too close and backing out turned into it scraping and denting the drivers door and put a fist/foot sized dent in the quarter behind the door (photos coming to show damage) the other a drunk woman in an suv backed directly into the passenger door, luckily only hit the door and was replaced with another miata door and sprayed black.. not the greatest quality door but it shuts and if you leave it dirty you cant tell its two different shades of black (how does that happen anyways?). rear bumper also has some peeling paint but i never cared about the asthetics of this car i just drove it and occasionally autocrossed (maybe 10 events) and i figure this would make a great challenge car for someone who doesnt care about looks. always has made a whining noise that i attributed to throwout bearing until i replaced the clutch it still makes the noise, not as bad im thinking either this one is bad too (chinese bearing i suppose) or maybe a bearing in the trans? it doesnt whine with the clutch pressed
good: NO RUST!! like none this is a ms car its never seen snow. runs great like a miata should, new 1.8 clutch (exedy stock disk with heavier pressure plate i think off a b2300 or rx7) with lightened flywheel drives like stock but holds better, revs a bit quicker i suppose to. spec miata take off suspension which are revalved bilsteins with 700/250 springs (not jarring at all actually rides great ive had 3 different coilovers on this car and these are the best) nb top hats, flyin miata solid front sway bar with mount brace blocks, 1.8 front brakes with hawk hps pads up front and stock 1.6 in the rear with some other higher performance brand pad in the rear i cant recall off the top of my head. also has 93LE interior sans seats, no carpet is in the car because i have it stored in a box with the other plastic bits, carpet is in GREAT condition and has two carpet pieces for the package tray. has some rear subframe brace (side to side like the stock 93 brace does not fore and aft like the 1.8). also has a one year old softtop on it.
now the other bits that fall between good and bad. no powersteering, the pump failed and i was broke so i just yanked it out, i have the flyin miata ps delete plug kit that hasnt been installed (comes with car) ac is still there and hooked up but when i deleted the ps i never bothered getting a belt (you can use the non ps car tensioner or i have a part number for a belt that fits just the ac), some older header that has cracked and been rewelded numerous times but hasnt cracked in 2 years so it maybe good now, cat delete (boss frog part) and some aftermarket exhaust that has been hacked back together alot. sounds good not loud but if i had the money id replace it. e30 wheels, good tires up front about a year old maybe 8k miles but the rears need replacing if you plan on driving any real mileage (otherwise id drive it cross country). new rear wheel bearings,
sorry that this is a huge jumbled mess im still trying to figure out the formatting, grab some popcorn and enjoy a crappy read. ill add more as it comes as questions as needed thanks.
trades: e30/e36 maybe rx7, ill entertain most offers but i STRONGLY prefer a manual transmission and rwd. possible trade up for nicer bmw or wrx
