1993 SHO Taurus . . . 5-Speed Manual - $450
NMNA. Cradle rusted out, and not running, but that manual transmission is hard to find.

owner says:
"I cant get the car to run
The cradle is rusted
24V motor.... 173000 miles
The body is really clean
Black leather and suede interior
5 speed manual transmission
Sunroof
This would make a really nice parts car
Im asking $450 but ill take the best reasonable cash offer
Ill also sale parts off the car"
A Midi Locost is in your future!
Drop by my place, turn a couple wrenches, and I will give you a good subframe for that car.
What do you need to put that engine in a RWD configuration? I've heard tales of a bell housing from the mythical manual gearbox aerostar, is that a real thing?
Many many years ago a client offered me a fox body Capri roller for free, just to get it off of his parking lot. His brother had started an SHO swap, then abandoned it. IIRC, the engine that he had was damaged (cam chain issiue?)and he couldn't find the right bell housing.
Is that the Yamaha motor or a Duratec?
There is a Getrag 5 Speed trans used in a Lincoln and a Jag that bolts up to the Duratec. But it wont take boost or abuse.
In true GRM fashion I made a Duratec bellhousing from a FWD auto trans case to hang a Celica Supra W57 close ratio trans on it.

That car is the 3.0 Yamaha. No SHO had a Duratec.

Well, the 96-99 v8 sho was duratec based.
If you want a North/South RWD configuration with that engine, you'll need a 3L Ranger transmission or 3L RWD Aerostar bellhousing w/adaptor plate to mount whatever you want. If you want to go Mid/Rear layout, all you need is a cable shifter setup from a 89-91 SHO.
If you want to North/South a 96-99 v8 sho, you need a Lincoln LS transmission.
Isnt the Yamaha 3.0 factory rated for crazy high rpm?
In reply to drainoil:
7400rpm, 8k+ with a custom eprom if you really hate your alternator.
