South Carolina. When you click on the city name on the CL ad, it shows you the State.

Looks more like an Exocet donor if it wasn't for the engine using oil rather than a viable resto/fix up candidate.

Miatas appear to be more expensive on this side of the country but even with prices out here that's not a $2k car.
