my brother in law needs to sell it. has 22x,xxx miles on it. cars in pretty good shape, was his daily till started making NASTY engine noises. assume it needs a motor. fresh brakes, belts, hoses, aluminum wheels, AC parts, timing belt/water pump/battery/cables, etc.
he doesn't have the money for a motor in this thing.
car does have a salvage title, but I pulled the diagonals and aligned it. aligned and checked perfectly. air bags do not appear tpo have been popped.
he put right at 20k on it sionce we got it for him earlier this year with no real issues till the engine went. trans is good, pretty decent car.
I told him id help him try to sell it. so this is my try.
hes looking to try to get 1000 out of it, or best offer. way I figure it, I could scrap the cats, aluminum wheels, sell the rt spoiler, and crush the rest and hed come out at about 550 or so. that's at current crusher price in my area.
so, anyone interested? parts car, or stuff a motor in it and rallycross the piss out of it.

runs and drives, but spun a bearing.its only a matter of minutes till it goes searching for daylight in my humble opinion. at least thats what it sound like to me. but will go to the end of the road to check the trans/load on trailer.
rt package got you premium sound, 4 wheel disc, stiffer sway bars, different trim, stiffer/lower springs shocks, power windows/door locks, quicker ratio steering rack.

Mostly the 150hp SOHC Magnum engine, with the cool 2-stage intake runners. AFAIK the bottom end of any 2nd-gen Neon should bolt in if you use the top end from this one. Or if you are more adventurous, the bottom end from a 2.4 should theoretically also bolt to the head, though you'll have to do some adaptation after that, since it's about 1" taller deck. You might have to source a timing belt, too.

that's what I was just informed on the .org
apparently I was duped. according to the org, its an es.
so I apologize. I was told that the spoiler, the nifty wheels it came with when we bought it, and rear sway bar/discs definitely identified it as an RT. apparently not.
so I apologize for any confusion.told my brother in law that 550 was probably the best he could hope for out of this thing. if one of you guys wants it for around 500, ill tell him to take the money and run. he swears any car is worth a grand, but ultimately leaves this kind of stuff up to me.
this car is NOT a 1000 car. if I had an engine, or a cheap one lined up, id buy it for around 6, stuff an engine in it, and go rallycross.
I doubt SWMBO will let me drive to NC for a car again this year. The fact that it isn't an R/T makes it an easier decision.
Oh and FYI those look like golf wheels.
I've got a friend with a 2G with those same wheels on them.
when i picked up the car it had a set of silver 16 inch bbs looking wheels on it that i robbed for my first gen. he then rocked steeliues that i had from another first gen, and i swiped those for me new first gen and put the wheels trhat are on it now on it.
this car has changed wheels like 4 times in the past year.....
the vw wheels came from the first gen that im driving right now.
the origonal wheels are on a first gen in gastonia now.
