2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport - $2000 NMNA

Has had some work done. Seems like a pretty decent buy on the surface.

What don't people understand about cold air intake??

What do you mean? That super high performance tube in the fender there?

An EJ25 in an Outback Sport - NOT bloody likely. First of all it's got an open front diff. Second unless it's on ice, snow or dirt, not enough power.

In reply to Brett_Murphy:

The fact that the aftermarket filter isn't isolated so it's getting hot air, not cold air. I bet the original set up provides more power.

Even on dirt and snow, not enough power. That is why they make such easy cars to drive, the chassis dynamics are okay and you can't go fast enough to get into trouble.

Obviously you do not see the cold air inlet that dumps right at the filter!

Well, you can get into trouble with them, but it does take some doing. We had somebody totally wreck one at a rallycross.

You mean the piece of tail pipe directed at the end of the filter that doesn't filter. Meanwhile, the engine heat counteracts any good it does. Yeah, I saw it.
