3 Miatas for $3000

NMNA. Yes, I realize that technically it's not under $2015- but if you could talk them down a bit and then sell off at least one of them you'd be well under budget. Or get the sale broken up to pay ~$3000 total for them but have them sold for individual prices. Seller says they come with lots of extra parts too.

Were the Prius sold I'd almost certainly be jumping at this, but I would have a hard enough time getting SWMBO to sign off on ONE additional car much less THREE.

I didn't see this...it does not exist... Good thing I have no way of getting 3 cars back to MI.

It's a very good thing the caprice's tow capacity doesn't allow me to pull 3 cars at the same time...

You could flat tow two of them behind the Caprice and have someone else drive the 3rd.

Or just tow the parts car and bring drivers for the other two since it sounds like both might be drivable.

I can't believe that. Dang. You know this is east coast, because this deal wouldn't last 3 hours anywhere in California.

Strip the usefull stuff off the grey one where it sits then scrap it. Tow the red ones home.

Kind of surprising that these are still there... half tempting to see if they'd be interested in trading the cars + some cash for the Prius...

Things like this are of interest for me because I need a trashed Miata frame to muddle with for my next project idea. As long as it is straight about back to the doors I could use it.

I'm going to have to check the $40 all you can carry junkyard for one.

Checked with the seller- all three are sticks (would have an easier time selling SWMBO on it were one an auto, but could also use it to teach her to drive a manual...), and all of them including the parts car will at least roll to load them up to move.

Casually floated trading the Prius- don't expect it to go anywhere, but can't hurt to try. Would probably only really be interested in keeping one of the running ones myself- I know how useful a parts car can be, but really don't have the space for one at the moment...

again, i have a road trip i need a car for...a beater miata would be fun. lemme know where this goes

Heh, seeing from where that car began to where it ended up inside, color me impressed!

I've got a pair of Miatae that could likely be taken off my hands for half of that. One has been hit in the drivers side door/quarter (jackass with no insurance backed a trailer into it) and needs a head gasket, and front brake calipers. The other has no subframes and is basically a shell with a 5 cyl Mercedes turbo diesel engine and trans that can go with it. Not to mention a pile of spare parts and wheels that can go with them.

It's all too tempting to offer to split this with someone- see if we could get them down a few hundred more and split the cost down the middle and the cars roughly so. The good-running one would probably work well for the topless summer toy SWMBO & I have been looking for (and be cheap enough I'd not be worried about teaching her to drive stick in it...) and the one with the performance parts & the parts car would make someone else a great base for a sub-$1000 entry to the Challenge. Could figure out how to split the 'truck load of good parts' somehow.
