That one is an active package.....and has about a 40% chance of having the lsd in the back end.

The transmissions are cheap as hell too. If it were in the Midwest, I'd buy it.

Gotta love bremerton... Where the wealthy just dump there old beamers and Benz...

Side note- why the heck would a top tier luxury brand sell ANY rwd WITHOUT an LSD! If your paying that much money for any car, it should come with it regardless.

For us, sure. For the average person, an open diff one wheel wonder can save the uninitiated from power oversteer.

but it would make buying old RWD cars nice, knowing they all had LSDs haha.

Was it the E46 BMW's that NONE of the non - M cars had LSD?

These cars were a low market vehicle when they were conceived and built. In '95, mine with the same package, lsd, and metallic paint stickered for $19k. The '94 v6/at mustang vert that my mom had stickered for $22k.

Lotus left them off the Elise to improve steering response, as well.

LSD is not a panacea, it has its benefits but also some drawbacks.

Kills fuel economy and makes tight turns difficult to impossible, unless the diff is so loose that it is a limited slip in name only.

In reply to Knurled:

It is a 25% lockup on the 318ti lsd, but certain fluids raise that to around 40%. I've done plenty of elevens on the road with mine.
