Show up with $500 and a fire extinguisher. Drive half-way home, put the fire out.

You just saved 500 bucks!!!!

take a roll of 3/8 rubber and some hard lines, a few clamps, and go buy the thing.

That....is awesome. What's the MPG, about 10? Why does it have to be so close....

Yeah, but I'd drop a Cummins in it and double the economy and quadrouple the cool factor.

Interesting trucks, but my god is the fuel economy deplorable on them. At least they're slow to make up for it.

I put an ENGINE in one of those. '85-ish model. The difficulty was that the thing was out of SC or someplace and all emissions equipment was removed, which meant that we needed to try to scavenge up as much as we could in order to make it legal. Surprisingly, a lot of the stuff was still available from Chrysler, although we MAY have gotten the last air-injection banjo bolts in the country. The rest of the stuff was trial and error finding out where AMC originally sourced it from. The air diverter was from some Ford application, for instance.

Also: It passed smog easily, and got 8mpg.

depends on the transmission, AMC claimed around 20mpg highway at some point out of the wagoneer. (i'm thinking 80's tho)

This will prolly get 6-10
