A set of flywheel sensors and some body and interior work and you'd have a nice 944.
Or you know the makings of a Challenge car :)

Who knows, it's a 944, their odometer gears are made of cookie dough.
Anyhow, damnit!! Close, cheap, and I have a trailer for just such an emergency. But I'm running out of space and the last thing I need is another project. But my 944 itch has been strong lately. So tempted......
NOt bad but...cookie cutters, hit in the rear, why isn't it starting (compression??), timing belt, clutch, motor mounts, and the other '44 maladies, plus early '85. If this were and '87 or later it would be worth the risk but unless you really know '44s, keep moving. (does that help anyone?)
I have a buddy here in the PNW who can't giveaway his early 944 motor. So if you look around, you can find what you need.
Funny most of the 944's I have had the gears fail at between 55 and 60K go figure. My 924s it failed at 57456. LOL Ya I have that burned in to my brain as I had to look at it for the better part of a year.

Let the '44 cup crew know. He should be able to get 250-500 for it. By the time you do the basic track ready mods, a 44 engine can get close to 5000 for machine shop, parts and R&R.
