Citation X-11

I have for sale a 1982 Chevy Citation X-11. I have title. This is a rare car and not many of these left out there. So this is your chance to have this car. I purchased this to fix up but lost interest. Now wanting to get older mustang or muscle car. This car has around 56,000 miles on it. It has the HO 2.8l v6 that does run. The battery will need charged due to sitting this winter. It is a 4 speed manual transmission that shifts good. The clutch seems to work just fine. Has a roll cage in it. Has new wipers and new K&N air filter that is guaranteed for a million miles. I have put in a new front light and have another that goes with it. I have new plugs and wires that go with it. The brakes seem to work fine. The heat works but no AC. All lights work and radio works. I have all of the interior pieces that go with the car. The seats and trim. Over all the body looks pretty good.

The bad is that it runs but r hot. Probably will need a new radiator and hoses. There is a hole in driver's side floor that needs a new piece of metal welded in. It will need one new tire due to dry rot. Other 3 tires are good and have good tread. It will need new carpet and headliner if you want. It runs a bit rich but might be due to running hot. Over all it is in okay shape but will need some work to get it driving around. Shouldnt be hard or cost that much for someone handy. Like i said before this is a rare car and for the handy person wouldnt cost much to have it running around good.

I prefer text or email. The price is $1000 OBO. Please message me with your offer. No reasonable offer will be turned down or if you want to trade I would trade for another vehicle but something that runs and drives and is Manual no auto and i could add cash if worth more. So message me with offers and i will message you back as soon as possible.

I will also have this car towed to your house. No extra charge aroud the columbus area

that would be an awesome home for a turbocharged 3400/3500/3900.

Believe it or not, The X11 was a pretty exciting car when it was introduced. The early 80's were dark times...

The X11 won the national title for SSB in '81. They are actually pretty fun to drive and were (in my opinion) the first "hot hatch". The GTI canme out later.

135hp/160lbs torque from 2.8 liters was pretty good for the day.

I test drove a used one about the time they were out and was somewhat impressed.

I bought one new. It was silver with burgundy interior. Learned about torque steer in it! It was a neat car.

Based on the '83 Runoffs, put wheel studs on it! One of the front runners lost a left front wheel due to broken lugs! Very memorable wreck!

(somewhere inside GM, late 1970's)

"Hey Jim, we don't have enough room to fit the radio and HVAC controls in this new Citation's dash."

"Tom, just turn them sideways"

"But they would be vertical and confuse people!"

"And? since when do we care about ergonomics? What are they going to do, buy a Japanese car?"

(Tom and Jim have a good laugh)

The GTI was out way earlier everywhere but the US.

Datsun had that sideways radio in 1968.

Or even just a regular 3400 with exhaust manifolds/headers that don't suck. Supposedly GM put the crappy log manifolds on the 3100/3400 so that it wouldn't make more power than the 3800. Interdivisional politics.

Certainly the late 3400 heads flow awesome compared to the old iron heads. Out of the box they are better than full race spec 2.8 heads.

During the first couple of years, you could get an X-11 coupe.

And I have longitudinal headers for a 3400.

And a set of 3400 heads looking for an F-body 3.4.

the 3500 is 200 hp out of the box and will (basicly) bolt in.

The 63-67 Corvette had a sidways radio too
