brings back memories...my first car was an 87 with the analog clock in the dash for extra baller points.
Mine had the 3.something liter mill, and was plenty quick. Too bad these dont come with more pedals to choose from.
My friend had a 1990 model I believe that was the XR-7 with a supercharged 3.8 litre and a 5-speed. He was ham-fisted though, and blew up the transmission a few times in the short amount of time he had the car. It was a nice looking and riding car in white with some white pony wheels. Too bad the 3.8 litre chewed up head gaskets like a junkie with pills, and the transmission was under lots of pressure from the stone-handed owner. It could have been a cool car. He also owned an 89 Bostonian edition I believe that was also nice, and sported a 5.0 litre automatic. He wrapped that one around a utility pole. He claimed to be a great driver as well.
one of my best friends in highschool wrapped her 84 around a telephone pole and walked away from it.
Weren't these just elongated fox bodies?
Oh man... back in high school I had a pair of 1987 Cougar XR7's that were $250 each: a white one with silver and gray leather, and a gray one with the blue velour interior. Both had the Mustang 10-hole wheels. The first one worked for a few months before the AOD exploded, but the 2nd one was a good car. My parents made me sell it to buy a 1989 Nissan Maxima SE, which at the time was a good idea. I miss those XR7's sometimes, and I haven't seen another one since I sold the 2nd one back in 2001. Loved the interior in those cars.
