One of the local salvage yards just got in an '86 Porsche 928 that probably needs an engine. It's black, automatic, the interior is kinda trashed and the intake is off of it. The PO said it has a "bad engine", but didn't go into details. Sounds like it would be a fun race car or Challenge car project. If I didn't already have too may projects (and hadn't already sold all my 928 stuff) I'd be all over it. I can take some pics of it if anyone is interested.
I'd say its a good deal at $500
offer it!
I got three 928's last year for free man. $1250 better be a running, driving, nice one.

real cars, or 928-shaped scrap?
One was pre-cut, one was scrappish (or a great start to a convertible), and one was a good car. Slap tires on it and it would roll. Complete suspension, engine, trans, wiring, interior, etc. Ended up taking everything to the scrap man (all three had clear titles!) because nobody wanted any parts off of them at all. The only thing I sold was a pair of spacers. I even had three complete engines!

I saw pics of those cars, and I have no problems believing they were free!
This is actually a pretty nice looking car, and the '85-up cars are worth quite a bit more than the early 928's. It would be a good candidate to fix or replace the engine, gut the interior, and have a fun, cheap toy. Or just drop an LSx in it and have fun.
So needs tuning by Ellis Juan.
