Looks like quite a steal if it actually runs. The guy's story is kind of suspect (trapped there for 8 years by a car with no key?). That said, Clifton is a pretty high-end area so someone probably bought a BMW and was too lazy to actually do anything with the old car.

not mine, etc.

I've always wanted one of these and came close to buying one new in 1989, bought my first Civic instead.

That said, if this car sat for 8 of the last 24-25 years...it still managed to accumulate a pile of miles.

And as always (my pet peeve) you write a long (sob) story into your ad but somehow can't remember to include that vital fact...which transmission does it have?

Umm, if you guys want one of these, I have one in really crappy shape and several in rebuilable shape. I'm looking at scrap pricing, too. The catch is that they're all sedans. My spare coupe has parts I need to keep, like the doors and coupe-specific rear and rear quarter glass.

The funny thing about the lack of a key is that there are effectively 5 keys for all of that generation of Honda Accord. I have the full set.

When I see these on CL, something that doesn't happen all that often anymore, I tell myself I would be happy with a sedan. If for no other reason than it will be a "Honda-hybrid" anyway, and a sedan would make a better sleeper. But then I think I want a hatch, when I see one, or a notch...because the notch is what I almost bought and they are the 1st gen. notch coupes.

Whatever, the transmission is what makes or breaks the deal, it HAS to have a manual as I don't want to add the expense of a transmission "makeover" to the engine upgrade.

None of my sedans have an engine in them. I do have a couple that has a 5 speed and recently rebuilt head. The coupe's body is what I'm really after, so I'd be happy to let it go as well if I can pull the coupe specific spares.

If you're serious and don't need a sedan, I think I can get this one for less than asking. I'm also willing to fly out, install one of my spare 5th gear clusters, and drive it to you, provided you pay for the flight and fuel. I am itching for an adventure. I priced out tickets and added up fuel costs, and it would come out to around $1500 for a REALLY clean coupe.

As the title says, im selling my lxi Technically it's my mother's now. About a couple years ago I gave it to her because (long story short) she needed a car. But she no longer needs this car anymore, and she wanted to junk it. I DO NOT want that to happen, even if it's not my car anymore and especially when it's perfectly in drivable condition. So, I'd really want her to go to a better home and better hands rather than a junkyard. It's just over 300,000 runs amazing. 5 speed, power windows. I can take specific pictures upon request. Located in Sacramento

The Goods: - A complete, full-body paint job (black with red flakes, solid clear, polished). (Here's the thread of when i first painted it: http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70620) - New parts replaced (when i had the car, approx 20,000 miles ago):

  -radiator hoses
  -power steering (high pressure) hose
  -thermostat
  -fuel filter
  -brake discs/pads
  -radio
  -dist.cap/rotor
  -spark plugs (w/e3's)
  -spark plug wires
  -O2 sensor
  -air filter (K&N installed)
-battery (new battery 2 months ago)
  -eye lids & headlight mount

The Bads: - blown 5th gear

Aside from 5th gear blown, the car is very drivable, just drove it today. Starts right up, and gets you from A to B. My mother has done routine oil changes of course every 4,000. And before, I've done A LOT of maintenance on her. The replacements listed above may not even be all that I've done, I just cannot remember all at the moment. Aestheticaly, it looks amazing. All that's left is for someone who can bring it to it's full potential, and treat her how she deserves to be treated. I just no longer have the time to put in the work. I loved this car like no other, and i'd really hate to see her go, but it's defintely worse to see her junked and stripped apart than in another owners' hands. So please! Make an offer as soon as possible! (Please be reasonable/considerate) She wants to junk mid-JULY!!!

Thanks! God bless
