Is this too good to be true????

Not too good to be true, it's surprising how cheaply you can get these sometimes...

If it's actually a subframe, as in a removable component, it would be easy to fix. You can get V70 / 850 parts at the junkyard all day long, they sold a ton of them and people don't want to spend any money fixing them at this point.

Edit: Point being, this would be an awesome start to a daily driver project.

I know the subframe is replaceable, but doesn't it require the engine to be dropped? What's the risk of just driving it like it is as long as there are no alignment issues? We have an 850 at home now and the wife would shoot me on site for suggesting it, but I still keep being drawn back to this car though.

None that I know of, I just assumed it was really bad if they bothered to mention it in the ad. If that's not the case, then definitely don't bother replacing the subframe.

"Willing to tow at my expense"...

...I wonder if he'd pay to have it towed to GA?
