'96 Miata for parts, racing, or rebuild $500 (Deliver to the Mitty?)

This is a complete rust free black car, with a clean title. It's a 1.8L base model. Some assembly required.

I bought it from a kid who was a mechanic wannabe. He was pretty good at taking things apart, but not so good at putting them back together.

I bought it with intent to put it back together as a $20XX Challenger, but as I started working on it, I realized it needed more than I was ready to give it. I found though the motor was sitting in the engine bay, it wasn't bolted down or hooked up. The 5 spd trans was in the trunk. I'm pretty sure there are dozens of issues that just need time sorting out, but it's time I don't have.

Put it together with Stampie's car, and you'd have 1 pretty good car, and a 2nd complete car of parts. Or, spend the time figuring it out by itself. Or, forget it all and pull the motor and drop in a 5.0L.

It had a light hit in the front (bumper and right fender), and the interior is a big mess (probably salvageable, but would take a lot of effort). The top is shredded, including the frame. It is also the car I used as a pattern to build my fiberglass fastback roof on, so it has a lot of fiberglass drippings on it (which clean off, with effort).

I'm selling it for less than I paid for it, because I really want the space back quickly, and would like to see a GRMer do something with it.

This could make a good Locost donor for me. A couple questions:

1.) Has the title been signed over to you, or just signed by the PO? Dated?

2.) Presumably all the parts are there?

3.) Base-model = no LSD?

I'm interested, but would need to work out the logistics of getting it to Biloxi. I'll also do a bit of research on the title, but my hunch is having it in your name, signed, with matching bill of sale, would make titling a Locost a whole lot easier.
