I swapped a 2.4L into a 2.0L stratus and didn't have any issues with the confuser. I don't remember what you have to do, but it is not that challenging.
No, it's not hard at all - it's just been a number of years and I don't recall EXACTLY how I solved the issue. It's a little wiring change or two.
