Everyone remembers the Eagle wagon, but how many of you remember this? I haven't seen one in years. This one seems to be pretty rough, but it would be a lot of fun to play with.

1981 AMC Eagle SX/4 Sport - 4 speed, a/c, ps, pb, moon roof, tilt, gauge console, tach, black interior, newer brakes/mc/booster, excellent tires. This is a nicely optioned Sport very worthy of restoration. Originally red, runs, needs floor pans and some other minor rust repairs, but is an overall solid car. Driver door has been reinstalled since pics taken. For the listed price you also get number of parts to assist restoration, including: grille, headlight trim, rf fender and bumper end cap, one door handle, rear filler panel and a 6 cyl engine. The current engine runs fine but the valves are a bit noisy so I'm including the spare engine. Clear title, older car sold as-is, on-site inspections welcomed. If any questions please email, if u include your ph num I'll get back to you quickly. Transportation is available. Thanks for looking, Mike

One of those is on the must have list. They're def cool.
That's a rollcage away from a production class rally car.
I know exactly what that is and I recently compared it to the Infiniti FX35: www.autotraderclassics.com/car-article/Classic+Reviews+_+2011+Infiniti+FX35-191548.xhtml
I'd tear the other door off, lift it a few more inches, and wheel the snot out of it.
Yeah I worked on one of those last winter.
Back in the day Eagles were in every other driveway in the country and mountains around here. Later on, their backyards contained a coupla few parts cars till they eventually rusted away. There's only a few good local survivors left... one of which sports a SBC.
SX/4 was always tops on the list but I settled for a clean '87 Wagon. When XJs filled the void left by the Eagles there was just no looking back...
But a rust free SX/4 could rekindle that fire
A guy who meets us up north every year for "Mushroom camp" wheels in along the two-tracks every year in one of these, painted with a big black skull on the hood, lifted up a few inches with mudders on. Works absolutely perfectly off road, though it doesn't like the washboard dirt roads all that much.
I really need to bring a camera next year, the car is excellent. He loves it.
I would like to find a '79 AMX. I've seen two of these in the wild and I like the way it looks. I like the fact that it has a 304 and a 4-speed.
