The car belongs to my little brother and is currently taking up space in my parents garage. He is realizing that the odds of him doing anything with it are getting smaller now that he's in college away from home bla bla etc. He wanted me to see if anyone here would have any use for it.
It runs, everything is there, and I think almost everything works when it's put together but it's rough. (started stripping the interior, some rocker panel rust, old crap tires, paint is a mess, pours oil from the rear main seal when running)
If he sold the car it would probably be for crapcan racing range $$. Or, he would probably be willing to sell off some parts for cheap before scrapping it.
I was kind of hoping he would be able to get it back in shape since it's a white one and I like the white ones. It does look pretty sitting in the garage
Located in Metro Detroit area.
Oh, and I think it has a title somewhere.
SWMBO is glad that you're not local
You should also try putting this on Pelican Parts.

Is there a joke I'm not privy to?
Good call. Almost forgot about that place. If I can remember what my user password is over there...
Where is the guy in Michigan who was looking for a rallycross car?

Where is the car? What shape is the interior in?
A 924 is on my want list.
Fortunately, I'm stubborn enough to not settle for anything but an '80, because the '80 was the only year for the 5-speed.

Any more pics?
Is this the Porsche that used a Volkswagen engine and/or trans?

What year is it?
I assume it's a manual transmission?

It's in metro Detroit. I didn't see it either. It's in his original post, under the pic.
Model year... oops that's important. It's an '81 so it has the Audi 5 speed trans, not the (allegedly more fragile) Porsche "snailshell" 5 speed. The interior is there but disassembled. He started pulling the carpet (which wasn't in great shape) to check the floorboards but I don't think any of it got thrown out. He got some good seats to put in it, I think from a 944. The car is in Commerce, MI.
I have driven it... The shifter definitely needs new bushings somewhere. I also would like one of these someday but I'd prefer one that won't sit around for months while I think about fixing it. Also, if I own a 924 I'd like a 924s or turbo.
I'll see if I can get some better pics in the next couple days if anyone wants. I'll try and capture the worst of it.

Will 924 interior bits bolt in an early 944
In reply to DrBoost:
Most of the time. They are essentially identical

So...how much?
He said $500 without the nice 944 seats. He should be along to join the discussion shortly. I convinced him get on the forum.
Owner here. I also have a pair of calipers for a brake upgrade, a spare camshaft cover gasket, and a new rear main seal. I think I have all the carpet but it's not in great condition and not installed in the car. Asking $500.
The seats are from a 931, and in pretty great condition (though black as opposed to the beige interior). Asking $300 for them, which is what I paid for them.
Hi there.

Can yoi post pics of the interior? Or just IM me and I'll post them for you.
I just took a bunch of pics. I'll post them when I am able.
Edit: pictures.
Carpets are all there.
The dash is cracked. It has a cheapo dash cover.
How much for the cheapo dash cover?
In reply to OutsideGroove:
$30 for the dash cover, plus shipping
