"let's take one of the most anemic engines on the market and then add even more parasitic drivetrain loss and weight!"

Hey, at least it was still faster than the Diesl tempo.

These weren't that rare when new but nearly all of them were sold in the rustbelt and have returned to the earth from which they came (in rust form).

Back around the dawn of the GRM board there was a brief discussion about combining one of these and the "sport" version of the Tempo with a 5-spd/V6 combo. Apparently the AWD version was only available with an automatic, and wouldn't hold up to any real power or abuse anyway.

I had an 84 Tempo back in 91, and it was already falling apart after seven years.

$1250 for a Tempo with a bad engine? AWD or no, hilarious.

Heck, even the Pontiac 6000 was available with AWD.

And unfortunately only with an automatic. I kind of like the way the STE looks, to be honest.
