It's a 1992 Mazda Protege DX with a 1.8L DOHC BPT swapped in from who knows what (likely an 88-89 323 GTX). It has the IHI RHB5 VJ20 turbocharger, but no side-mount intercooler. It runs, drives, and stops. Clean title, has plates with expired tabs. Straight body, no damage, no rust. No radio, no speakers, no A/C. The oil seals in the turbo are bad. It makes boost but shoots white smoke.

Would make a killer Challenge car ($3 boost gauge from Summit anyone?), LeMons/Chumpcar, or Rally cross car.

Still around, but maybe not for long. A GRM'er is coming up today to look at it. I also would NOT sell it as "reliable kiddo transport".
Let me know if you sell it or not. He will be in the portland area for Thanksgiving and his wife has a newer MDX, so they have the mostly reliable bit.
