think I have a spare starter kicking around the parts bin... if you can find a RWD 80+ brick at the junkyard its 99.9% likely that it'll work (not sure about the I6 model... but the redblock I4 will work for sure.

If that's a gasser, the I-6 starter surely won't work. The I-6 is a Diesel, built by VW, and shares no parts with the redblock.
