A little above challenge price, but He might take less...

I wonder what weird and wonderful creations someone here come use that to make.

Dude needs to lay off the crack pipe! That's worth about $200 in scrap. No wheels, no drivetrain, no wiring, no body parts, flooded interior, and no title.
No joke, there are two running and drivable C5's for around $10k here in town. There's no way the salvage frame is worth $3k.
He'd have to take 2500 less. That's the most insane thing I've read in a long time. Throw in all the body panels and I'll give him an extra few hundred. If he throws in the wiring, I'd throw it away cuz it's been flooded. If he threw in the powertrain, it'd still be worthless.

I could see $3000 IF it had a title. Would be a good candidate to reshell a bent car. But no title means no reshelling.
Part of me still says this could be the makings of a badass full-tilt MR rallycross car, though.
idunno, I'd be willing to pay a lot more than $500 just to get the suspension, rearend, steering and brakes to use as donors on my TVR. I wouldn't pay $3k, but I'd pay a lot more than $500, especially considering I could sell the rest of the usable parts.
No rearend - the transmission is back there too. That's how they managed to go from the coffin-like C4 to an open spacious passenger compartment. Also how they could get the engine down to where the valve covers are about where the tops of the tires are. C5 oil pans are SHORT.

No drivetrain parts. so, you're paying $3,000 for 8 control arms, 3 springs, maybe a steering rack that got water in through it's vent. For $3K you can have some serious suspension bits made for you, and buy a miata.

Well it won't have a rearend, the seller took the drivetrain, which on the Vette is a T56 bolted to a diff in the rear. With it being a flood car the brakes will all have to be rebuilt before working again, and the stock C5 suspension is pretty useless with the transverse leafs and soft shocks. This isn't a Z51 or Z06. So you're pretty much left with the suspension arms and possibly the steering rack as the only usable parts.
I would say closer to $1500. Nah, $1000 tops. I could use that frame. Individual pieces parted out $2k? As Javelin said it is not a Z51 or Z06.
The right buyer who is looking for a start for a race car may not quibble over $500 to $1000. I have been there, that search is a pain. I have been known to cave.
