Selling a great challenge candidate so I can raise money to buy Powar's Suburban.
1994 Golf with a VR6 swap (I believe from a Passat, I didn't do it myself). Full 5 lug conversion all the way around. Runs well and pulls hard but could use some work.
Bad: Also, it has a surging idle, horrible paint (crappy rattle can job done by someone before I got it) and an undiagnosed slow oil leak. Previous owner was going for a "shaved" look so he globbed bondo in the driver's side modling channel. I chiseled that out and started sanding on the car. Both air bags are blown and hood is an aftermarket replacement. Driver's side fender is dented as is driver's side rear door. Needs the hatch release mechanism replaced and a driver's door handle.
Good: I recently put Bilsteins on it with H&R springs on all 4 corners. Driver's side wheel bearing is new with less than 50 miles on it. Speedo doesn't work. Tach is flaky. Needs an alignment/tow set. Comes with 2 spare sets of wheels with decent tires. One set are VW oem wheels with decent (but mismatched) tires and the other is a set of rather curbed up 17s with good (although mismatched) tires. I'll add pictures of them later today.
