I bought a golf cart last night from a neighbor who happens to also have a 40k miles smart car he is trying to sell. Seems his kid was driving it and somehow it lost compression in one cylinder. He was trying to get $2500 for it but got no interest and is ready to deal.
I'm pretty sure it is too short to drag race and too tall to autocross, but if anyone is interested I can get some contact information.

You know, a Smart Car done up like a vintage rail would be pretty epic.

It's not too short to drag race at the $20XX Challenge.
AutoX should be able to be dealt with through the same formula the minivans are using. Nothing that can't be solved with some biggerer box flares. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/evil-18.png)
I was looking for one of those last year but have a different challenge plan now and you are WAY WAY too far away.
Edit: Castlewood, SD isn't as far as I thought. But still not a chance I can get it.

I really shouldn't ask, but where is this thing??
Biggest issue you'll have in autocross is the heavy handed stability control. Cuts in entirely too soon. The center of gravity is not as high as you would think given the low down packaging of virtually everything.
These make me smile ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/cool-18.png)

My youngest got her permit yesterday, so I have 364 days to get something ready, sounded good, but at more than 2700 miles round trip, I just don't see it happening, although google maps routed me through KC, and it has been 25 years since I had any Rosedale BBQ! But still not happening!
