Same color as the 79 my parents had when I was a kid. Loved that car. I should probably stick with the memories, and not go buy this...
Would be tempting if it were it not a modest ways away and if I didn't already have a non-running project to be finished. It looks like it would be fun even without the engine swap. I'm all for Challenge cars that can carry everything needed for the weekend on their own.
WANT. I'd leave it bone stock as is and drive it till it falls apart. That has road trip vehicle/parts hauler/Lowes,HD mule written all over it. I like the mismatched red body panels (my wife would probably disagree and not ride with me in it)...
I vaguely recall my father hauling lumber in ours. IIRC, at one point, that included 4X8 sheets of plywood. My dad was so hunched over since it went over the front seat headrests, that he worked the pedals and steering wheel while having me work the gearshift from the passenger seat. Ours was a base model, same exterior color as the one in the ad, but with a vinyl red interior, and it may have had the four cylinder, can't remember for sure.
