Wow, a "ran when parked" Citroen SM. Now THAT'S a project car from hell. I love those cars (must be the Gallic blood in me), and I know my way around hydraulics, but there are probably so many special ways this car can leave you stranded I would not buy it. I l still love it.

All it needs is a better motor and the suspension restored. This is far too close to me.

Italian powered French car, the only way that could get more reliable is if you had the whole thing built by soviets in the 80s.

I really like those cars, they aren't a candidate for an engine swap really though. I mean you could fit anything with enough cutting and welding, but it would mean none of the things that make the car interesting would be there anymore. The good thing is you can still buy a lot of parts for them, and the ones that people have fixed everything are supposed to be pretty reliable.

They sold them here new, and yes for $100k or so you can buy one a lot better than new.
