If I wasn't broke....
My uncle was a bigshot at Ford and my aunt had one of those in 1987. I remember it being the first astonishingly fast car that I ever drove, as well as my first experience with anti-lock brakes.
Can someone translate that ad for me? Is that "written" in text or just REALLY bad spelling?
My brother had a V6 Thunderbird about this vintage, and I'm still mad I never got to drive it before he blew up the engine. I really like the shape of these, just wish they had been about 10-15% smaller, as they (seem to be?) / come across as Mustangs, only in a BIGGER size.
Cool cars. I had a pair of Cougar XR7's of the same vintage, and those were fun, even with the anemic 150hp 5.0. White with the red pinstripe was always my favorite color on the Turbo Coupes.
There are some real cool body kits for those to make in to a 53 shoe box.

Points of contention. The swap is for a 49-51 Ford, they aren't called shoeboxes, they are for the 89-97 MN-12 chassis TBirds, and they most definitely are NOT cool!!!

Huh? 49-51 Fords have been known as shoeboxes since they were new.

But I agree with you on the kit. Those things are ghastly. There are two local ones that just make you cringe when they drive by.
