single exhaust tip+looks like no "power" bulge on hood should be a SOHC, but its an expresso coupe so it should have the DOHC(which is what my '97 expresso coupe had)

I had a 99 Expresso it had the DOHC engine but it was an option, the power bulge hood was also a seperate option so that car could have either engine in it. Mine also had a single exhaust tip if I remember correctly. That was a fun little car, I kind of miss it.

Since my Neon memory is a little fuzzy, I checked in with Neon.org for the answer. Plymouth continued on with the Neon Expresso through 1999, whereas Dodge replaced their Expresso model with a Neon Sport. ALL 1998-1999 Plymouth Neon Expresso couple models had a DOHC engine and they also ALL had the hood bulge. With this car having a salvage title, most likely the flat hood was installed during the repair process, right before they sprayed it Urinated Snow Yellow.

All bets are off since it's a salvage title, but the seats are not from an Expresso either. An Expresso would also have a spoiler, but i guess that could have been deleted when they did whatever bodywork the car needed.

I wouldn't be shocked to find that it's a highline SOHC coupe.

edit Eureka, there's no foglight button on the dashboard. Foglights were part of the 97-99 expresso package.

You're right, the seller emailed me back and confirmed it is a SOHC car. I'm not interested since it makes the 2.4 swap more tedious.

In any event, I'm kind of holding out for the R/T model.

They are getting hard to find in genera, and the ACRs are the worst. Limited production numbers don't help, and the ones I have managed to find are either race prepped and $$$ or really far away. There was one lime green coupe that popped up for sale a while back that was gone within hours.

I would have totally loved a lime green ACR.

Heck, if anyone knows of one for sale in NC, SC or VA, let me know.
