Dr Boost this one's for you
Pretty sweet

I'm talking reliability wise. From what I hear certain old Mercs can be really pricey for basic suspension components.
Nice. I always liked this generation. My '70 220D isn't bad for parts costs. A few oddly expensive bits most are ok.
Tremendous amount of want. My BIL lives just down the road. I wonder if he could store it for me for a few months..........
Parts for the diesel ones usually aren't terrible, the more unusual ones are when stuff gets really expensive ($800 distributor caps, etc).
Interesting...
If Adolph hadnt broken my spirit for the world of MB, id be interested. Be clear though, if you want to DD this, you'd do well to bolt a snail to the exhaust.
Aussie, I'm surprised to see that this has a trunk and back seat instead of a bed and lack of taste

bwahahahaha
The more I look at it, the more I do want it. I actually kicked around the idea of a classic diesel benz for a DD.

Take one out for a test drive than. That will likely cure your interest in using it as a daily driver.

Well, that and owning a previously neglected W124 did. You always hear about how they need regular maintenance, and if neglected it can get ugly real quick. They are right. But, even at 304,000 miles it drove rode amazingly well despite the neglect.

It was a rattle trap!

Grin, now go out in something like the above linked 180D, and learn the true definition of slow. I took an old 190D of the same era out on a test drive. I can honestly say that I think my old Ford 8N tractor would beat it in a quarter mile drag race.
My wife likes it in the pictures. It's mere minutes from my in-laws. I have to decide if this is the favor I want to pull in.
