69000 miles in 42 years is about 1650 miles/year. There's a story here somewhere. Maybe he drives his Horizon a lot.

That may not be a hatch. A lot of them had a trunk, but the car's profile was the same. Trunk cars were lighter and stiffer.

I (sort of) stand corrected, I think...

The car does look like it has a Runabout (hatchback) badge on the C-pillar, though I didn't think that those came along until 1972.

That one is a hatch. I've had Pinto's w/both hatchback and sedan with trunk. What you're seeing is the grill of the car behind it. Threw me off too till I looked and saw the reflection and grill.
