Ex-GRM RallyX Impreza looking for a new home (and some engine TLC)

Sadly, I'm offering the ex-GRM 2000 Subaru Impreza back to the GRM community. I was unfortunate enough to find out that a broken timing belt makes the car much less mobile. I'd prefer to pass this along to someone with the time and energy to bring it back to life. It was a lot of fun while it lasted. Here is the previous ad:

Since purchase, I replaced the steering rack boots, repaired the center console cover, replaced the hatch struts, and put in a new stereo head unit. It was in a minor fender bender that creased the right front fender. I pounded out the dent and sprayed it with some blue paint. I have a can of color matched paint that will go with the car. Here are the basics:

186k miles, needs engine rebuild or replacement (due to broken timing belt), 2 sets of wheels & tires

$2014 obo

Hey that's my wife's old car. Shame about the timing belt. I believe I had it replaced around 120k but that was about 5 years ago now.

Greg: Yeah, it's a bummer. It's still nice enough to be worth fixing.

I would keep it if I had the time to do the work myself. I just don't have the time and I know there are at least a couple of things (p/s pump, shift linkage) that I would want to fix while it's apart. It doesn't make as much sense when I have to pay someone else to do the work.

Wish I had an EJ22 or EJ25 laying around...

I still have it. I told the shop to pull the engine to assess the damage, but they didn't expect to get to it until Friday. Until then, it's still for sale...

I've always had an interest in having a Supra, but the unrelenting blue is hard to take and the rear lap belts won't cut it for hauling kids. So, I guess not.

No longer for sale (at least at this price). Shop replaced the intake and exhaust valves and is putting it back together. I'm looking forward to getting it back.
