Never underestimate the LS's ability to turn innocuous maladies into mind-bendingly expensive repairs.

The rear suspension is all "pillow ball" style bushings, which are replaced as (expensive) control arm assemblies when they start binding or go loose. The fan is hydraulic and shockingly expensive when it starts leaking. Stuff like that.

All that, plus nobody wants them, so you might be stuck with it forever. Around here, 3k is the price for a LS without work needed.
