Just bought an E46 330ci so I am looking to sell my 1991 Saab 9000 turbo.

The facts: This is a Talladega Red (uncommon color) 5-speed 5-door with a black interior. Just over 250k miles. It has the superb power Recaro Aero seats front & rear as well as 16" Super Aero wheels. 1991 is a very uncommon year; last year before TCS, first year of the 2.3, highest performance of all the original body cars, etc.

The good: The clutch and transmission were replaced at 246k by the previous owner and since purchasing I have replaced the diverter valve (now a Forge piston unit), throttle position sensor, O2 sensor, intake air temp sensor, coolant temp sensor, fuel injectors, fuel filter, heater box assembly, DI/APC chip (now has a Group 6 tune ), dashboard bulbs (now almost all LED), headlight relay, tires (new Michelin X-Ice Xi2), rear brakes (Brembo blanks with EBC Red Stuff pads), and more that I'm surely forgetting. I put in a high-end JVC head unit with Alpine speakers. The car also had Goodridge stainless lines from a previous owner. The body is remarkably rust free for a 1991, limited to some totally fixable light bubbling behind the passenger rear wheel arch.

The bad: Most of the parts that I have thrown at the car have been in an attempt to fix a hesitation it has when warm. When cold, the car runs great, pulls hard, though there is a slight hesitation at WOT. As the car continues to warm up the hesitation gets worse and worse until you are basically limited to driving with 1/3 of your available throttle. I am not sure if I got a bad sensor somewhere, or if it is one of the few parts I have not replaced (BPC valve, wastegate actuator). It is still perfectly drivable, just not terribly quick when it warms up. Also, the last time I drove it, it felt like the driver's side rear brake caliper was sticking a bit. Other minor problems are that the central locking sometimes has a mind of its own, the sunroof tilts fine but only slides 1/2 way back before sticking, and the A/C lines were cut when I replaced the heater box (turned a 6 hour repair into a 45 minute one).

I am asking $2013 obo. I will probably end up parting it out since so few people care about early 9000s and this car is worth much more in parts...but I'd hate to see such an unusual specimen go to waste.

I also have a NEW black DIC (which works fine on LH2.4.2 Saabs like this one), some extra "red top" injectors and other spares that I was planning on eBaying individually, but I would sell them with the car for a nominal fee. (Otherwise the car will include a stock red DIC that works fine and a spare red that has an occasional miss, but works).

I will have more pictures up tomorrow.

Nice enough to save, for sure.

If we were at the end of our lease I would be all over this. Can I just see the pics of the interior?

I want this, my favorite saab color on my favorite body style. Nice find. Will have to look into that hesitation issue though/

The fact that the car runs great cold and bad hot leads me to believe that one of my sensors is giving a value way out of range, since the hesitation gets bad when it goes into closed loop...if I were to keep it, I would probably do a T5 engine management conversion, which would not only open up tons of tuning potential but also solve the running issues.

Will try to have pics up today.

Also, if any GRM'ers are seriously interested, we can probably work out a package that includes all my spares for challenge price

If I cannot sell it in one way or another my plan is to gut it, sell off as much as I can and Challenge it, but honestly I think it's way too nice for that. Other than the LH2.4.2 issues and possible bad caliper this is a great car.

Oh yeah, forgot to add, one more issue: driver's heated seat doesn't work (but passenger does).

I also had a 91 9000t in Talledega red. With 115k miles, and everything working and it all being stock in goo shape, except the heated seats, I sold it for $2k. It was an awesome car. I wanted to put some prancing moose shields on the front fenders, but never got around to it.
