So I previously listed this here: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/200x-classifieds/fs-1994-saturn-sw2-modded/40652/page1/ I screwed up the thread in an attempt to edit the title (can this even be done here) and first post. There is a gross change in what I am offering, price, etc. so a new thread is just as appropriate I assume.

I bought a different daily. I don't have time to tinker with this one anymore, nor do I want to. This is an excellent starter candidate for a challenge car. It runs, already has a suspension, semi sticky tires, good wheels brakes, etc. Install the bolt ons and you'll likely have a mid 15 second car, with plenty of things left to sell to get you some rcomps. I am willing to knock a few bucks off if you don't want the head-unit as I would transfer it to my current DD.

  • Price: $2011 for everything
  • Location: 22124, Oakton, VA - Wash-Dulles is the nearest airport (IAD)

The car:

  • 1994 SW2.
  • 170xxx Miles
  • Doesn't burn oil (ok maybe 1/4 quart / 3k miles)
  • Manual trans
  • Full stripper model except for A/C and ABS (4 wheel discs).
  • California model (95 wiring harness, Linear EGR valve)
  • and the door sills are fine

Noteable maintenance:

  • Full Service History. I even have the original window sticker. Everything is also logged in a Google Docs spreadsheet.
  • Pretty much full suspension rebuild between 157k and 165k. Very extensive, even crap like the steering intermediate shaft, new rack, etc.

Mods:

  • H&R Springs
  • KYB Struts
  • Progress 19mm Bar
  • Energy Bushings
  • Crappy short shifter
  • Stoptech front pads
  • SC2 Steering Rack
  • Alpine CD-103BT bluetooth headunit, with installed microphone on driver's A-pillar.
  • 15x7.5 TRM wheels with 225/45-15 RS2s
  • Stock 4-slot alloys (15x6) with junk tires (195/60-15)

Not-installed performance parts that will be included with the sale:

  • 1999 MP3 transmission
  • MP2 5th gearset
  • MFactory Helical Diff (BNIB)
  • Thermal R&D single tip cat-back
  • 92 Header/downpipe
  • SPS Intake w/o filter

Spare stuff:

  • 99 Steering Cloumn + wheel + whatever else is attached to it
  • 94 Headlights. Probably need to be cleaned really well
  • 1st Gen Sedan/Wagon rear door sills. These are impossible to find.
  • 3 (yeah, weird) rear swaybar brackets.
  • Box of push-pins for door trim. Brand new
  • 2 new fuel filters and some lines
  • Almost-new intermediate steering shaft. Probably around 5k miles on it
  • Intake manifold. It doesn't have any of the fittings in it, and the major vaccum connection one is broken off
  • 1st gen head. Needs a cleanup, and someone started porting it at some point
  • 2nd gen head. Needs total cleanup
  • Brand new front caliper brackers + pin bushings. Bendix bushings, IIRC reman brackets
  • Box O' Throttle body. These soaked in some purple power for a loooooong time. They need a serious cleaning. Includes 2 TPS sensor
  • AMR 8K 8" Springs
  • Intake Manifold Flange. Does not appear to have been cut by a laser or waterjet
  • 2 sets of 99+ Rods (handy for building a high-comp motor on the cheap)
  • 1 entire 97 engine - has a bad head
  • 1 entire 99 engine - with a knock
  • 2 spare steering racks - 1 94 SW2, 1 new SC2 rack that I need to exchange for a replacement from rockauto

The bad:

  • I think it needs a column. I have a 99 I am thinking of swapping in, but I'm lazy. Something annoying in the steering feel, and pretty much everything but the column is new. Or it may need wheel bearings. There are two threads on this subject you can read here: http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172945 and http://www.sixthsphere.com/forum/showthread.php/83885-Wheel-bearings-shimmy-at-70mph
  • The carpet could use a good cleaning.
  • RR bumper is a bit scratched from a recent bump from a taxi. Nothing structural but needs some touchup paint.

Rear bumper scratch referred to above:

What it looked like with black slipstreams: What it looked like with TRM 15x9s (lol)

hrrrrmmm - my sis lives not too far from here...I wonder if she would drive it here for me the next time she comes home (thanksgiving)...but Id have to convince SWMBO that this would make a good replacement for my aging P11 G20...tough sell, but I will give it a shot...stars will have to align

are those h&r sport springs? how are the struts holding up?

Yes they are sports. The struts are ok, but KYB GR2s were never that great to begin with... their valving is really aggressive. I don't know that I would put any other drop springs on a wagon. Mayyybbbe the Progress 1.8, but most of the drop springs for these cars suck. I'm tempted to cut the stockers if I ever drop a DD Saturn again.

Also, the car is sold.

I was between H&R sports and the Eibachs. Kinda still debating. Whats my options other then KYB GR2? Can stock struts handle it?

Why would you not put any other drop springs on a wagon?

Lastly any parts left over that you still wanna get rid of?

Thanks for your input

Nope, all the parts left with the car.

The Eibachs are soft and terrible. The progressive rears will sag like crazy if you put anything in the car.

Progress are reasonable, but hard to find, have a decent drop and still have reasonable spring rates.

The other springs have stiff front springs, but really soft rears. The balance is nowhere near stock (129lb/126lb). Springs are like 200/140. Many of them have too much drop as well and royally F* the front camber curve.

H&R it is then haha.

Sixthsphere claims they dont lower it much. But mine is a DD so i cant have it in the weeds. Comfort should be decent i guess
