Looking to sell my Volvo. SWMBO gave me the OK to buy a Honda Ruckus if I sell it so it's game on.
269K miles and still rust free. It has an autotragic transmission. Uses a quart of oil every 3000 miles or so. The body and interior are really in amazing shape given the mileage. It has a couple of shopping cart dents and there are one or two minor issues with the interior plastics. I get 18-19mpg whether I'm doing city or highway driving. Sunroof works great. ABS and cruise control are functional. Tires have plenty of life. Still plenty of fun when you get into the turbo. Has new plugs, wires, crank position sensor, battery, and fuel pump relay.
I'm the second real owner. The original owner donated it to goodwill, then a dealer bought it, then I bought it from the dealer. Still has owner's manual and dealer service records up to 120,000 miles or so.
Problems are as follows:
-Radiator leak, I've got it stemmed with JB weld but I have to top off the overflow reservoir every 500 miles or so.
-Hatch struts blown.
-I was having some transmission issues when it got down to 10 or 20 degrees Fahrenheit but I recently discovered the transmission fluid was over a quart low. When it was acting up it would slip for a second or two right after starting the car. I've since added fluid but it's hot out now so I don't know if it will still slip in the cold. If nothing else it shifts much more smoothly now.
-Smokes at WOT and only at WOT.
-Back half of exhaust has fallen off, it's not overly noisy but sounds kind of like a truck.
-There's a...noise at speed. Sounds brake related but I've never been bothered enough to check it out.
-Rear wiper is getting old and slow.
-Driver's front seat has a tear covered in black tape. Driver's sun shade holder clip broken, passenger map pocket on the door has a crack.
-Heated seats don't work.
-AC doesn't work.
-Car likes to run cold.
-Driver's front window rolls up fine but will keep trying to go up if you don't let off the switch.
That's pretty much every problem I can think of. I still drive it to work without issue twice a week or so. Aside from the coolant leak and cold transmission issues it's still a really solid car.
