In the final stages of parting out my beloved 1985 BMW 528i euro, German market car with a lot of rare parts. All of the profitable stuff has been sold for the most part (euro bumpers, valence, hood/fenders, wheels, Bilstein shocks) but I still have some large parts left. Since I have already made my money, and I would like to see the heart of this car live on in another cool project, I am willing to offer up the leftovers to GRM'ers at a severe discount. This stuff is listed elsewhere but not this cheap, and I am quite flexible on prices...I just need this stuff gone. All parts are pickup only in Milwaukee, WI (although I could flatbed the shell within ~60mi for a fee).

M30B28 engine - 9.3:1 compression (higher than US models), hottest factory M30 cam, euro dual manifolds, upper front cover is cracked but includes new OEM replacement. Has been sitting for about 2 years. Engine ran great with just over 200k before car was in accident; still turns freely, no leaks or burning, used Amsoil only for as long as I can remember. Will include ECU and (cut by idiot friend) engine harness if requested, though this engine in particular is a great Megasquirt candidate. Would be an awesome E30 swap, though also fits E28, E24, E12, E9, etc...asking $200 obo. Photobucket

Getrag 5-speed trans, G260/5. Always shifted well with no grinds. Have full swap with pedal box and driveshaft. For everything, $300 obo. Photobucket

I will also be offering the clean, titled Euro shell. The core support and bent sheetmetal has been cut out to weld a new section in. With a donor or a few phone calls to BMW (yes, you can still get the sheetmetal) this could be rebuilt into something really cool. I am planning on including the interior if nobody wants to buy it separately. The driver's door was sold, hood and fenders are gone, and I am keeping the trunk as a wall decoration. This picture is a little dated (shocks and wheels have been sold so it lives on jackstands now) but you get the idea. Asking $350 obo. Photobucket

Also have some other E28 parts left (make offer); German language switches 24h clock and check control, black leather interior, uber-rare Westfalia trailer hitch, doors, trim, etc.

Wow I just saw this. I'm up in Green Bay and I think I need someone to talk me out of this. Or to take my project 944 off my hands. The worst part is I will be in Milwaukee next weekend...

It's too bad there's a big lake in between us, because that Big Six would probably look quite nice in my E30.....

All this crap is going to the crusher soon. Nobody wants it? At all? Not enough to make me a sub-scrap $100 offer even?

The ferry is still running Muskegon to Milwaukee or go via the windy city and it's 351miles each way. You have family there so the stop over isn't too bad.

The ferry ain't cheap, and neither is 700 miles of driving in my truck, so either way, this cheap engine would end up costing me quite a bit.

wondering out loud - Cadillac used the g260 5 speed in the early CTS (and holden) - is there possibly an LSx friendly bellhousing? Cheaper and lighter transmission option?

The G260 I have is unfortunately the integrated bellhousing version...otherwise you'd be on to something

It is beginning to look like the shell will sell locally, leaving me in a better position to store the engine and trans. I would really like to see the drivetrain go to a GRM'er, so if you are interested, get in touch and we can work out pricing that works for you.

To South Dakota any idea what it would cost?

Looks like the service itself will run $150-400 depending on carrier and it'll take me $50 in supplies to crate the thing. So, at least $200.

Of course I think they're worth it. What is that even supposed to mean? I pretty clearly go through the condition of each component. I think a $200 motor and $300 near-complete 5-speed swap is worth it, but that's just me.

My buddy Chris may be picking it all up at the end of the month, so it'll probably be moot unless you act quickly.

All I have left is the motor/harness/ECU and trans/driveshaft, BTW. Shell sold in November and I've cleared out most of my other spares.
