I do not recall ever seeing a AWD Pulsar with an auto trans. Not a bad looking car for the money, just not sure about the rust

I can not find anything that suggests there was an awd version offered. My guess is that since there is a "X" in the name, he thinks it is awd.
According to the all powerful wikipedia, the 3rd gen had AWD available, but where they were sold is not mentioned.
There was a rare 4wd Sentra wagon offered from '87-'89.
This is confirmed via www.fueleconomy.gov which gives the vehicle its own listing and rating.
For the Pulsar, there is no separate listing for a 4wd or awd version.
The site typically has a separate listing for awd/4wd if it was sold in the US in that configuration.
Far as I can recall, the EXA-series Pulsar never had AWD available anywhere, thought it was based on the Sentra (B12) chassis so an über-rare swap is a remote possibility I suppose.
I am guessing a typo for FWD.
