My daughter called, five weeks left until graduation. Her car has been diagnosed by a local (Rochester MI) mechanic with a bad head gasket. No interest in repairing.
Currently runs and drives. Black, no sunroof, five speed, two sets of tires and wheels, new pads rotors, shocks, radiator, thermostat, fan. 202k miles.
$800?
Such a great deal....so far away...
Where did the car come from? The south would be nicer vs. it was purchased here in Saltland.
It came for Germany I believe.`
We have had the car for 5 years, who knows before that. I have the car up on a lift twice a year to swap the summer wheels, it has the usual stuff but it is not bad.
I don't have a way to link pix, if some one wants to see e-mail me or post for me.
Winter wheels are steel with stock hubcaps, winter are taller wider wheels, they look like older M5 wheels. All eight tires are good.
I found the pictures from last fall before swapping tires. It looks pretty good.
This is pretty far from me but it's such a good deal...

Sold 7 minutes on Creepslist.
Glad you got it sold. But now I'm on the lookout for a 318ti...again.
I need to keep a better eye on this section. I've done that head gasket job before and was amazed how easy it was.

Only concern is if it overheated enough to warp the head. So the history of new radiator would lead me to think it would probably need a skim to true things up. Would also wonder if the other cooling plastic bits were replaced along with the radiator
The head gasket was done once by me it was very easy. Does any one need the cam holder tool to keep the cams from turning. Its home made out of 1/4" plate it think. Just pay shipping.
Hind sight, should have shaved the head.
She drove the car from Detroit to Grand Rapids 2.5 hrs with no coolant...on a cold day. The temp sensor is in the radiator so it didn't appear to over heat.
The radiator shop diagnosed a bad radiator due to fluid coming out of the over flow tank that appeared to be cracked. The new radiator did the same thing. So I looked at it myself, it was the thermostat stuck closed.
So after that we risked a $90 head gasket job that almost worked. We got 9 months out of it.
I wish a GRMer would have gotten this one but she was in a hurry.
I'll take the cam holder please.
