I've owned a couple, they are nifty cars.
(disclaimer) not saying this needs to be done on this car, but some of the parts stores don't get that the IX has different components from a regular 325.
In case anybody is wondering, the ball joint part numbers are:
L1054301 Inner
L1054402 Outer
That took a bit of Google-Fu to find when I did mine.
Those balljoints have been changed on the car last year 
. I actually had the LCAs and their bushings changed...
BoxheadTim just saved the buyer of this car a huge hassle (getting the parts) and a non-trivial expense.
