I forgot they made these. Perhaps someone needs to build a Challenge Pacecar

He has the time to post downloaded pictures of what it "should" look like, but apparently not enough time to post an actual picture of the real car?

If it is legit, could be cool, but I really have no idea. Do the pace-car editions have any real value over a normal Fiero?

I always thought the '84 Indys were some of the best looking Fieros. I know they're not the best choice but I did like them. They were so different from everything else when the came out. There was a guy in my town who had a couple of them. I don't remember that awful interior though.

^^^Agreed. Although this one (well the pics anyway) is missing the upside down 'shovel' air scoop, that I always thought was ohsocool.

I think the scoop was only on the actual pace car, though I've seen a couple of cars on the street with them. They were probably aftermarket. I don't think the rear decklid would open with the scoop.

From the Fiero Warehouse:

INDY PACE CAR SCOOP: The Indy Pace Car Scoop is designed to maintain the styling of the air scoop used on the 1984 Indy 500 Fiero Pace Car. The scoop mounts in the center of the rear deck, and contains a gas strut and latching system which allows it to clear the roof when the rear deck is raised. The scoop is for styling only, and is not intended to be functional. $375 (includes hardware)

Good call...I lived close to Detroit at the time and I saw a few driving around. Must have been prototypes, or early aftermarket...or both.

From the quick google pics that I have found, they do not hamper the opening of the decklid.

If the interior isn't destroyed its worth the $750. The red parts are Indy only and can bring money if in good shape. The rest of the body is the same as an '85 GT or 86-87 SE. It's just stickers and paint outside.
