I loved my little S107G from Amazon so much, I decided to try a much larger version for outdoors. I let the guys at the hobby store talk me into a much more advanced model than I should have bought, and wish to cut my losses. Maybe with a little practice I'd get the hang of it, but I've flown it 3 times, crashed it 3 times, and repaired it 3 times.

From the store. Still have the box.

Bought the training gear, helped a little. Made the flight 15 seconds longer before crash.

Comparison of my little guy with the new one.

I believe I paid about $200 for it, plus the training gear was about $30 or so. I'd be happy getting $125 for the whole thing to put back into something car related or a cheaper 'copter. (I'm also up for trades if you have something interesting, not really desperate for cash.)

Dayton OH area, can ship for a few $ more.

Apparently for $300 I could have gotten a 4 rotor drone thing with two cameras and much easier to fly.

You can't fly that? I have a Blade SR that I love.

Are you sure you're calibrating the gyroscopes correctly? It needs to be on a flat, level surface when the battery is plugged in.

Are you taking too big a bite with your flight attempts? Reading the above thread makes it seem to me like it's a heck of a long learning curve.

I tried just hovering a foot off the floor in the house, didn't go more than 5 seconds. I know it works because after the last repair the hobby store guy took it outside to the parking lot & flew it for 2-3 minutes maybe 40' up.

I'd also heard ground effects could cause issues, so I tried to launch it fairly quick, keeled over and crash. Another repair. berkeley it.

In reply to Jerry:

Any interest in a trade for a Mercedes Seat in excellent condition? could make a nice furniture piece or put it in a car.

Try launching quickly from a pedestal in the middle of your yard-think Tee Ball for example. That should reduce ground effects and minimize damage when it crashes. Obviously, if it's windy then this is a poor choice.

I had the benefit of learning on a friend's before I bought mine.
